Svelte Thys (°1998)

While pacing, I step on the earth, searching for sensory stimuli that cause thought to emerge. These pacing steps are recorded in sketchbooks, redrawn, conceived, and shaped. While walking I let myself be overwhelmed by everything that makes life visible, and while painting in my studio I try to understand the overwhelming. Therefore, the studio can be regarded as a place for the realization of an apotheosis between the polar bear on earth and the thinking that can be portrayed through painting.
