Kleine Tijger 'Robot'
Our gallery is proud to announce a special collaboration with celebrated Belgian illustrator Pieter Gaudesaboos. In a gesture of generosity, Gaudesaboos has donated a selection of prints from his acclaimed book “Mijn allermooiste speelgoedwoordenboek” (My Most Beautiful Toy Dictionary). The proceeds from the sale of these works will directly benefit Kleine Tijger vzw, a non-profit dedicated to bringing art and culture to children in hospitals.
Kleine Tijger believes that creativity is a form of healing. Through workshops in theater, circus, music, and storytelling, the organization offers long-term patients opportunities to express themselves, discover new things, and experience moments of joy — even in challenging circumstances. Their weekly initiative, De Verhalendokter (The Story Doctor), brings tailored stories and poems to children’s hospital rooms, creating a space of imagination, resilience, and comfort.
Currently active in the Antwerp University Hospital (UZA), Kleine Tijger aims to expand its work to more hospitals across Belgium. Each purchase of a Gaudesaboos print brings them one step closer to that goal.
“This project shows how art can transcend the gallery walls. It not only supports an artist’s vision but also gives children the gift of creativity and imagination when they need it most,” said [Gallery Spokesperson].
The prints are now available at Schönfeld Gallery. By acquiring one, buyers contribute directly to building a bridge between healthcare and culture — where art becomes a true form of healing.
