Magda Amarioarei
Magda Amarioarei (°1988 Romania) is impressed by the contrasts and links between cultures and nature throughout history and uses memory and nature as a framework for her artistic approach.
The interest in mythical narratives comes from the experience of timelessness, the moment when time is dematerialized and one can discover time true nature, which is the opposite of what we
experience habitually through passing time. Hence the interest for the mythical narratives, where myth is a sort of coded discourse and a possibility for concrete time and space to participate in another reality.”
Her paintings are the result of the whole living effect on sensitivity, a vision that blends with reality through principles of similitude, stratification, and analogy. Without stopping at likeness and visual representation, her painting evokes nature into a constant state of dissolution and reconstruction. „Landscape is a vehicle by which the ruins of modernism are portrayed and discussed, by which the shift towards post-industrial lands is established and criticism of progressive ideas is postulated.”
